Proposal
My honors project will be to create 4 minimalist posters using illustrator. This project is going to be completed in illustrator. I plan to complete it within 2 weeks. This project will cover graphic design. This project will involve me finding images to trace, and coloring specific sections to make it have as little detail as possible but still allowing you to figure out the shapes and identify the main idea of the poster. I plan to complete this project in the time given in class by the final portfolio deadline. To complete this project, I will have to use my creativity and balance color, shape, and detail. I will not be facing that many obstacles. Some of the obstacles I will face will be mainly what to draw and how to convey the shape of the object without loosing the minimalist design. I chose to do this project because I absolutely love minimalist posters. I think they are the best to look at and hang on someones wall because of there simplicity. They also utilize color and shading in very interesting ways. That is my proposal for this project.

Reflection
I chose to do this project because it is an art style I love and have fun making. I love to use color and simple shapes to create a visually pleasing image. One of the other reason why I chose to do this was because it is something I feel I am good at. The biggest problem I came across with this project was time management, as I was also trying to get my portfolio done at the same time. Another problem was how much to actually put in the image, as I tend to overcomplicate and plan to put and do things that are way over my skill level. This fits into my overall development because it allows me to try out different colors to allow for more depth in the drawing and work on time management. I think that they came out ok, but I feel that the drawings I created had to be compromised. This is because I wanted to put in so much more but faced time constraints and realize I did not necessarily have the skill or know how to do what I wanted. the temeraire poster, for instance, was definitely unsatisfactory, as I planned to do a lot more, but couldn't figure out how i was going to accomplish it. I didn't really learn anything new but i did learn how to use shapes and color more effectively.
